Some misguided copywriters think they can simply write out a sales copy to last forever. It is impossible for a sales copy to work forever. Why? Because things change and this include the demands of the internet and your target market. Your sales copy may be effective today but it may not be as effective on the next few months.

An effective sales copy is one that can answer the needs of your target market. Your sales copy may be considered effective today because it directly address the demands of your target market. It offers something beneficial for your target market. But think about it, your target market’s needs change. When they do, your sales copy many no longer address the changed needs.

As your target market’s needs change, you should also change your sales copy. When the demands vary, you should modify your sales copy to address the new demands. This is the reason why you simply can’t write one sales copy and expect it to work for you forever.

The Frequency Of Change


So it is already given that you need to change your sales copy, but the question is how regularly? How often should you modify your sales copy to meet the ever changing demands of your target market?

There is actually no single required number of change. The changes on your sales copy will depend on the demands of your target market. The key is to evaluate your sales copy. Ideally, you should do it at least thrice a year. Evaluate the performance of your sales copy to determine whether you need to change it already.

In deciding to change or revise your sales copy, consider looking into the benefits that you offer in your sales copy. Are those benefits still applicable to your target market? Will they still be of interest to your potential customers? If your sales copy is still applicable and convincing, you may retain it. However, if evaluation reveals that your sales copy isn’t performing well anymore, don’t fret over changing it.

How Often Really?


Do everything you can to maintain the effectiveness of your sales copy. Remember that the sales copy is the door that opens your website for online sales. Going back to the question of how often you need to change your copy, the answer is to evaluate it first.

Through evaluation, you will know when to change your sales copy. Evaluation can be done thrice a year. In four months time, there may already be changes in the demands of your target market.
