Better Google Rankings

Often, web marketing resources speak about how to create a website. This is actually a general approach to all the website thing. Although website building steps can help potential site owners get general view of a website, sometimes it helps better to start with the basic step, web page creation.

What Is A Web Page?

The web page is what consists a website. A website is a set of several web pages related to each other. Usually it is a hypertext mark-up language (HTML) page that is accessible through the web. It is stored in a web server and appears on the search results every time a related search query is made.

A website aims to provide information of various kinds to online users. This information is presented in the web page. Normally a web page contains text information but it can also have pictures, graphics, and any other kind of presentations.

Creating A Web Page

A website will usually have more than one page. So prior to building a website, you must first start thinking about building the web pages. What pages should a website have? The number of pages to put in a website is the website owner’s discretion. But basically there are a few basic pages that a website should have. There should be a homepage. This is the page where the site visitors are usually first taken to. The homepage should contain everything there is to know about the website.

Then there is the “about us” page. This page is necessary so that the site visitors will have knowledge of who runs the business, what the business is all about, the objectives of the business and similar information pertaining to the business. A website should also have a products and services page. This page displays all the products and services that a website offers.

There should also be a contact page where the site visitors can communicate with the website owner or administrator. Part of the search engine optimisation requirements is the sitemap page. A sitemap makes spidering of the entire website easy for the search engine spiders.

Basically these are the basic pages that a website should have. There could be more depending on the decision of the website owner. Each of these pages has their own purpose. In creating the page, site owners must always keep in mind the purpose of the page. This will help them come up with a more effective page.

In creating a web page, make sure there are links to your main pages. This will make browsing in your site easy. At the same time, it assists in search engine spidering. The links will take the search engine spiders and the site visitors to the main pages of the website.

A website must be composed of highly optimised web pages. Need to optimise your web pages? Please see our SEO Services or you can apply for our Free SEO Analysis. For more information, please contact our SEO Specialists.
