People today have become so familiar with internet surfing. Even for the basic needs, they go for the internet. People expect that they will get what they want and need from the websites on the internet. However, how do you expect people to visit and browse a website that is so loud?

Have you ever tried going over a website that is surrounded by flashing ads? Or one that is a pool of banners? Or still one that has countless sales statements urging you to act immediately? How about a website that won’t let you read the content because of the little ad box that follows you even if you scroll down? This kind of website is too loud and people won’t risk their patience and eyesight for a website as such.

Having an attractive website may attract online users but overdoing it will send potential visitors away. When you want to advertise and push your products and services to your site visitors, you need to be subtle. Don’t make the ads too loud, try to soften them. How do you tone down advertising in your website? Here are some tips in creating a softer advertising effect:

  • Leave the blinking and the flashing to Vegas.

  • Flashing or blinking ads on your website may attract a click but if your website has too many of it, forget the “attraction” part. Blinks and flashes are just too loud. Think about the internet surfers who may be browsing for hours already. Their eyes are already too tired for your flashes and blinks.

  • Too many headlines cancel each other out.

  • Having a headline to introduce your products and services is effective especially if the headline is attractive and interesting. However, some websites seem to find it hard to summarize what they want to tell in a single statement. This resulted to several statements appearing to be all headlines. This technique will just cancel the effect of all the headlines. Online users don’t know where to look anymore.

  • Simplicity is not just beauty; it is traffic and conversion as well.

  • Don’t send your site visitors away with all the eye-hurting advertising strategies in your website. Keeping your website simple always work. Avoid complicated elements like moving objects or texts. They are just too loud and eye straining. Do your site visitors a favor, make your website simple!

  • Lengthy Sales Copies

  • It only takes a minute or even seconds to convert a site visitor into customer. No one needs to read over several pages of sales copy to be converted. If your sales copy is effective and optimized, a few lines are enough to convert your site visitors.

Advertising is the life of websites. Without advertising, how can you get customers? However, don’t be too loud with your advertising strategies. Simplicity is still the key to attract and convert site visitors.
