KPI tells web marketers whether the website’s performance is meeting the business’ goal or not.

Online key performance indicators depend on the goal of the website. It differs depending on what the website wants to achieve. Lead generating websites can use the following key performance indicators:

  • Sign Ups or Registrations
  • Page Visits
  • Filling Up the Contact Forms

These are just examples of key performance indicators. Your website may have more KPIs. One of the first steps in measuring the success of a website is determining which KPI to track and measure. Remember that KPI is based on website’s goals, therefore, as your website’s goal changes, so are the key performance indicators.

Why Measure Key Performance Indicators


Measuring KPI is not as easy as others may have thought of it. Tracking and analysis is necessary. There are a lot of things to track and analyze including site traffic, page views, conversion, sign ups, registrations and more. These will reveal to you how your website is doing in terms of meeting its goal.

Measuring KPI is not an easy task but should be performed. As a web marketer, you just can’t ignore it in your web marketing efforts. Without measuring, you won’t be able to gauge your website’s performance and success. It helps web marketers point their websites to the right direction: towards the achievement of the goal.

Without KPI measuring, you may be putting all your efforts on web marketing strategies that are not helping your website meet its goal.
