A press release can do wonders for your website. It builds your website’s credibility and it encourages your target market to trust your website. When you sent out a press release, you have high hopes that it will be accepted and published. When your press release is accepted and published in top ranking news websites, it is the beginning of your success.

A press release can reach millions of online users. It can reach your target market. If it is as easy as writing any press release and having it published, we will all be happy by now. But it isn’t the case, most press releases are not approved and published. The publishers can give you as many reasons as possible why they have dumped your press release. What most web marketers fail to understand is that a press release is not an advertisement of the website. A press release is a news story and not an ad. It should be a news regarding your business. It can be any new changes or developments on your business. A press release is not a medium to advertise your business, products and services.

Like an ad, a press release is sent out to build business credibility. What makes a press release different from an ad then? A press release speaks of pure facts. It says something that is based on truth that can be proven and verified. It is not something that puts your own opinion as a business owner.

An ad, on the other hand, blatantly promotes your business. It speaks nothing but praises for your products and services. It tells how good your products are and why your target market needs to purchase them. It can include mere opinions.
