Search Engine optimisation

What makes Pay per Click advertising a must-use strategy nowadays? Its benefits have lured many webmasters to take their chances in PPC. However, it is advisable that before you start bidding for keywords and start paying for clicks, you should first understand what PPC is, how it works and what search engines accept it.

What is PPC?

PPC stands for Pay Per Click. It is a form of web advertising technique that generates traffic to your website. PPC advertising has enticed many webmasters and online advertisers because of its many benefits. PPC allows webmasters and internet advertisers to choose the keywords, keyword phrases and search terms to associate with their websites or online ads.

Aside from that, PPC allows web advertisers to decide on the amount to pay for every click. Webmasters and web marketing advertisers take full control on the amount they will be paying every time an online searcher clicks on their ads appearing on the search results. Remember though that the more you pay for clicks, the more times your website will appear on the search results.

Pay Per Click Search Engines

Which among the many search engines allow pay per click advertising? There are several online search engines that allow pay per click advertising. Two of the most popular and frequently used search engines allow pay per click advertising. They are Google and Yahoo.

Google and Yahoo – Paid Listings

Although Google is not a pay per click search engine, it does accept paid listings. Its sponsored listings allow text ad boxes to be placed on a highly visible portion of the search results. The sponsored listings are positioned on the right portion of Google Search Results.

Aside from displaying the ads or the sponsored listings on its own site, Google also delivers pay per click ads to other content websites. This gives your ads more visibility and higher chance of getting more traffic and site visitors.

Yahoo, an equally large search engine as Google, also allows pay per click advertising. The pay per click ads are placed above the free listings on its search results. All the benefits of pay per click advertising are offered by Yahoo’s Overture.

Aside from Google and Yahoo, there are still other smaller pay per click search engines available on the internet. These smaller search engines offer low-cost pay per click advertising. And you can also find thematic search engines that offer pay per click advertising. These types of pay per click search engines will give you the most targeted traffic.
